Comprendre l’expo Joseph Cornell par MuseeBeauxArtsLyon
Joseph Cornell et
les surréalistes à New York : Dali,
Duchamp, Ernst, Man Ray…
6 years have been needed to prepare this exhibition, which turns out to be
agreat success. From October, and until February, 10th, some 269 works of arts are exposed at the ‘Musée des Beaux arts’. Mainly focused on the American artist and sculptor Joseph Cornell, one of the pioneers and most celebrated exponents of assemblage, it deals with the period of surrealism in New York. Among Salvador Dalí, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst and Man Ray, you’ll be amazed by the enigmatic, inexplicable, unjustifiable principle of these works. A lot of private collections from New York have never been seen in France… It’s a must see!Musée des beaux-arts, 20, place des Terreaux, Lyon. From wednesday to monday, from 8 to 18. 6 €.
